Have a lovely weekend!
My husband and I are off to help his elderly mother take care of her extensive veggie garden. (If we don't do it -- she will!)
So I thought I'd leave you with my best wishes for a great sunny relaxing weekend, and also with this ornament from my garden.
A friend, knowing of my interest in all things Norse, made me this
Norse weathervane. It stands in my garden, stylishly pointing out the
direction of the prevailing wind. The runes on it also point out
directions -- they explain the way from Greenland to Vinland according
to the saga sources, if you know how to read them. Those are some of my
lupins in the background -- they are just finishing up now.I'll get caught up with you on Sunday evening. Cheers!

Good luck with the garden!
The weather vain is amazing! Does your friend sell them?
ooo that's nifty!
That is beautiful!!! It has been so hot and dry here for so long. We are finally getting a little rain and my impatiens are growing like crazy! I love it when they mound up in the beds. Have fun working in the garden. His mother sounds like my mom. Time to go mow her lawn again. My niece is using her house for a shower tomorrow, so I'm going to go help her get ready. Have fun!!! (((HUGS)))
That is awesome. I hope to see some veggie garden photos on your return. Safe journey.
How wonderful this is. Judi
I love the weather vane! It's awesome. I'm hoping to put some more cool, ornamental stuff like that in my gardens this summer. :sunny:
What a clever ornament! And the lupins are beautiful, m' darlin'. Where's Dennis Moore, now?
Have fun working in the garden. My Grandmother will be 93 in two weeks and she has a vegetable garden that rivals mine. I got my farming genes from her and my late Grandfather. Her kids tried to talk her out of having a large garden 12 years ago when he died. She's very independent though and just makes the garden bigger if they start about it. It keeps her going and she eats very little and gives the rest away. I am very impressed by the weathervane.
RYC: I just got your comment from y post last year iabout book club. Thank you for reading it and your comment was funny. Please come by any time and read more recent ones.
Hello,
I like your site. Bless you for your thoughts on living through cancer. You should be proud.
And as far as the instructions on that weather vane go….How many times did those guys get lost in place they didn’t know they were? Today we have faster modes of transportation that seem to allow the guys to get lost more frequent.
And a lovely Sunday to you as well! That weathervane is something special, perfect for that amazing garden of yours.
I love that! Have fun Mrs. Greenjeans! (Captn Kangaroo :p) :fun:
That's a really cool weathervane (being of Norse descent, and all...), hope the gardening trip was a good one... I miss gardening in a climate where relentless heat doesn't "fry" everything by June.
 Yay!!! I move on the 4th of July and... there is an established vegetable garden!!! I cannot wait!!!!
Peace, and happiness, prevailing winds... and my fav thing in the world... weather vanes!!! Denny
Pretty!!!
Yes eliminating debt is part of decluttering your life a very important part, Judi
Oooh, that weather vane is beautiful.
